Hello Everyone,
I've been scouring the Internet for the past few days about a problem (or what I think is a problem) about the TMC updates. The built in Navigation system on my E90 works flawlessly; however, I never receive TCM updates. I've noticed that my handheld Navigation Unit (Navigon) does warn about impending gass-wasting doom; however, the built in TCM system doesn't appear to be getting the updates. :help
In my iDrive configuration I currently have the TCM selected to 'AUTO' as I have no other sources of data (ie.: Radio stations broadcasting information).
What I am wondering is what follows:
As this is a US Spec car in Germany, could it be that the US Spec radio frequencies do not pickup common broadcasted TCM updates (ie.: I pickup odd frequencies, while TCM updates are sent over even frequencies)? If this is the case, does anyone know how to reset or change the radio region setting? I know in the E46 BMW Business Radio it was pretty easy. :bash
The second possability is that it could be the Navigation disk? I have the OEM disk that came with the car (works great), and another set of disks (from BMW) for 2011 (Professional Map Update). Does anyone know if my CCC system can take the 2011 Professional Update disks, and could getting the disks working solve the TCM problem? :shifty
