one of my Continental 225/45R17 run flat tires was punctured by a screw, so I took it to a local tire store to have it repaired and they were unable to remove the tire due to the wheel lock nut. We scoured the vehicle and were unable to locate the Wheel lock nut key. Is it "hidden" somewhere, or do they not provide the key in new cars anymore?

In my 2010 335 it is located in the trunk, right side, under a lift off cover where the tool kit is. The cover is about 7"x10". Hope you find it!

You should get it with your car from your dealer. If it is not where indicated above, go to your dealer and ask them for one or to replace the ones on your car if they failed to provide them at time of sale. They also have master keys to unlock yours.
By the way, the locks are a dealer option not a factory one.

according to the tire manufactor you are not supposed to fix a run flat tire. it is even stated on the side wall of the tire.

but for you key to the wheel locks, the above is correct.

Actually, several manufacturers now allow runflats to be repaired, but they mandate a thorough inspection from the inside. They still recommend against it though to be safe. If a repair shop is knowledgeable and they dismount the tire and inspect it, a repair of a runflat that has not been driven flat is as reliable (or unreliable?) as a regular tire.
