I posted this on the track forum but just wanted to post locally as well:
It has taken quite a bit of work to get to this point and after I get some testing/seat time with the car, we'll be able to tell a bit more...but the little driving I have done thus far, it feels really good overall...the car is built for H-Preppared and it's modifications are done to conform to the rules of BMW CCA.
As for the LTW's performance...I'll have more to say next week, but we are hoping for the best...looking to do the VIR race in April and the Mid Ohio race in May as far as right now, more to come as the season progresses...
Also just wanted to say thanks to the following folks: the DTM team (Marks, Dado, John, Carlos, James & Fabryce...and others), Pete from TCKR for all of his dedication/expertise and hard work on the electrical system, fabrication, and overall setup/suspension of the car, Tracy Fritter ('the crazy critter') for recieving all my shipped parts, JTD for some of their assistance, RRT (Barry Battle, Adam, James, Dave, Kevin for their fabrication and chassis work) on the roll cage, RimPro and Diffs Online (Dan) for the killer diff, Brandt & Chuck for motor related work, CDOC for their continued support, StopTech for the brakes, Joel for the paintwork, Mark at Forgeline, OG Racing for their support and having the parts I needed ready to go on short order, Jerry for his support with the trailer(s), and to all the DTM Power and Bimmerforums enthusiasts and friends....oh and Kyle M for the corner markers...almost forgot
thanks all

Sunir,
Do you have a garage for Mid-Ohio?
I'm looking to share the cost of mine. I don't remember how much it is. I won't be leaving the car in there overnight but will need some space when it rains. It is garage #1, next to the bathrooms. ;)

1996 328ti, I don't have a garage at Mid Ohio...I plan on going for the race weekend (May 28-29 I believe) so I could share with you then I think....having a garage area for storage and to work on the car is really helpful, we always try to get one at Pocono and Watkins Glen...when are you heading up to Mid-Ohio and do you have the garage for just that one weekend?
Queenzee...the LTW must weigh no less than 2832 lbs with me and a tank of fuel in it (I think we're there already if not lighter)...this is to be in compliance with H-Prepared rules. This means that dry the car should be between 2500 and 2600lbs I would estimate, I am fatter than I expected to be at this time (around 200+ lbs) and a full tank of fuel is like 80 - 100lbs I would imagine...

Andy...I'm too POOR for Import Eurasia and getting a booth, I spent my last few bucks on a pack of smokes hoping Jeddy would trade me his corner marker for 'em...but alas he didn't trade so now I smoked them all and have to resort to bumming once again :(
...when's the next track event for you? Pehaps Jeddy and the rest of the guys will bring out their RACING CARS also :D :) ...

My car is undergoing a little transformation as well. Nothing like yours though. I am focusing more on the, "bling" aspect though. :D
As for right now, I am only scheduled for the Nation Prelude Meet track day at Beaver Run in June. I am going to schedule more once I get a better idea when my car will be done. I would like to do at least two more track events this Summer, if not more.
Sunir-
No more shows???? Get out!!!
You mean none of this:
Or flossin' sweet azz Hamann rimzzZzzZ like this?

damn Jeddy...that's taking it far back yo...heehe LOL :D ... :embarrasm ....hey come to think of it, the car was pretty much stock and very clean for that one show, I think I got a trophy too!
Actually it'll be at BimmerFest East this year and some other show events, in a booth.
You should come out and do a few DE's this year...I think Pete and Eric may do some or like one DE this year or they were planning on it or something...ran into them at OG Racing as they were in the quest of getting Eric the right helmet for this year...

I'm registered for the National Prelude meet in Beaver Run as well and will definitely slip in at least one trip to Summit. My real goal is to get to VIR.
Yeah, amazing how a couple of years fly by, huh? That's was when you were first autocrossing and just started doing DEs. Jonny Neenja had detailed your car and you got 2nd place at Deutche Marque de Concours in Vienna. Remember the crazy "drive" through VA where you nearly took out your splitter?
Good luck with BMWCCA CR!
By the way-what happened to the "big red box" induction system????

we decided to modify the box to feed air into radiatior through the kidney and the bumper mesh instead of covering up the kidneys...this would keep air even if the lower ducting were to get clogged or damaged.
Don't go to the Prelude meet, those guys are GHEY! and the fact that they drive hondas makes them POOR! ;) :D ....trust me there's a dude in Columbia that proves this all the time...hehehe....just kiddin' ;)
Jeddy, I heard your getting Brandt to build your motor... and do a bunch of other stuff on your RACING CAR?

Yeah, been talking to Brandt-I'm going to put it off for a little bit for now-I am planning a few trips this summer. Not really a motor build-just doing the top end. From what was simple cam swap is snowballing into other things. I am going to run bigger injectors, HFM (which then needs a larger diameter intake, but Sean Cain is going to help me out with that), and custom dyno tuning. Plus VANOs replacement since Brandt is going to swap cams.

such always seems to be the case! Trust me I know what you mean...when I started tracking like 2 years ago, I never thought my car would be at the point it is today  !

hahaha..just kidding 'round andy :D ....you guys are gonna love Beaverun...you know what they say, "there's nothing like lapping the Beaver!" :D ;)
Branko...the original LTW wing is already sold, I still have a set of IFG wheels and a set of Forgelines if you are interested...other than that my LTW interior is still for sale...

I can attest to the effectiveness of LTW components. I have Sunir's LTW steering wheel and have noticed that steering is very quick and feathery light now. My car is quicker as well because it is lighter. Plus, the air bag is made of lightweight material so it deploys faster in an impact.

SWEET!!! So if you beat me at the autoXs.....that is the reason why. Not because you are a better driver, but because you have LTW  parts.
LTW  steering wheel cancels out my S03 tires.

Sunir - the car looks a lot different since the last time I saw it. I hope to see you at some DE events in the future and come watch you do some club racing. I am headed to Mid-Ohio this weekend for the first time at that track, hope it is not too cold.

Sunir, what happened to the FK Automotive seats you used to have?
Also, are the IFG wheels black?
sunir
03-31-2004, 06:04 PM
sold the FK racing seats recently...
the IFGs are not black...they are the standard IFG color, like a dark gray or almost like graphite silvery metallic finish with clearcoat...they are some sweet, light, forged wheels but they are 8" and if I don't end up using them for rains, I'll sell them and get 9"s...are you interested in them?
