ok guys this is my first turbo car: 07 335i white coupe
coming from a 2000 e55 amg this car feels slow in comparison even though on paper they should have similar times
DTS off completly I floor it in first gear to my surprise absolutely no wheel spin and ,its slow until 3000 rpms or so. When in D when i step on it half way it wont shift up and lags until i floor it and until its at higher rpms .... What can be wrong? bad turbos?

do you have a check engine light? i would also check to see if any after market tuners are plugged in line with the DME. sometime people trade them in and leave them in there. these tuners have a low boost economy mode. it could be a variety of things, i have seen DME's being replaced after programming for similar complaints as well. if your turbos were bad and not building boost it would illuminate your check engine light for sure with low boost faults

raise the hood. go to your microfilter which is bolted to the cowl. unbolt the microfilter held down by 6 8mm bolts. remove it and remove the two covers on the left and right. one covers the E-box and the other the brake master cylinder. there are two 8mm bolts on the left and right sides of the cowl. remove that and under it you can gain access to the e bokx. slide the tabs on both sides tothe unlock position which isindicated by a lock symbol. remove the cover and under it is the DME. there are two connectors going directly to the DME, if there is anything plugged inline b/w the connectors and the DME that would be aftermarket tuning equipment. you will definitely notice something out of place.

ok if not. it really seems something must be limiting the boost because my 335 and all the others i drive are pretty quick, and i have a mustang putting 480 to tire.

Dude, I could do that on the 323 e90 with 200hp and 180tq. And technically, a used car cannot be a lemon. Did you not test drive it before you bought it, or it just started doing that?

If its an automatic try putting it into (dynamic sport mode) and BMWs grip a lot more than Benz they just throw out torque

My Benz would smoke my tires till their bold without brake torquing even..
I'v tried to brake torque the 335 and barely get wheel spin and its in higher rpm when they do spin a little,, im confused.. Will try gtech it tomorrow to see if its actually that slow.
Yes i test drove it but didnt floor it from the start like this,, car feels ok at hwy speed but form the start is where it really bogs me, dont really feel much power till it hits 3000rpm

Funny you say that as I've felt similar behavior on OBD tuned n54 - maybe earlier Cobb map or something else. The car felt worse than stock with very little torque up to 2800 rpm and then followed massive power and torque surge all the way to red line. Stock n54 has flat torque from 1500 to 5000 rpm on specs and trust me it burns tires even on second (steptronic) unless you got some really sticky tires.

Maybe you should go to a reputable tuner in your area and have him look at the DME program. Also, did you buy this car from a 3rd party person/dealership or from BMW dealership? How long ago did you buy it? Since the car does not appear to be within specs you can try to have them cover things in some cases. Another thing to keep in mind is that if the DME has been tuned the prior owner may have beaten the crap out of it. Lots of folks do it to these cars... It's not for sure though. I have a tune but I never race mine. I'd do occasionally some spirited driving in canyons but thats about it.

Could be so many different things. I can't say it's not tuned, but my cobb(granted it's a new map) is still stout under 2k revs, it's not like a stock map, but it's close. Then after that it's game on.
Unless the person used the cobb to put it into valet mode? But it wouldn't take off at 3,000 rpms then. Could it be valve coking? Turbos are going? Transmission is not so good?
When you say it's DTC is off, you do hold the button until it's deactivated, not just hit it quickly once?

yes its off by holding it...
Bought the car from private party 2nd owner, clean carfax, guy is 50 some years old told me never had any mods, everything is factory on the car other than halo color change which the owner admitted he installed

yes I'd assume its pretty common.
you need it on a dyno with a live data scan tool. I've heard of high pressure fuel pump problems....:dunno

I would go to a dealer that has a used one and drive it, see if it feels the same or not.

Are you using premium gas?
Are we talking about the 349 hp v8? If you are expecting the BMW to be as fast as the e55 on paper, then you are dreaming. The BMW has less significantly less horsepower, equal torque and weighs more than the e55... The E55 is faster in straight line than the 335...
However... I am also able to spin the wheels. I am assuming you have the AT because this would be a useless post in the MT?
