its time for tires now. i rotated them yesterday and noticed im almost to the little wear indicator made onto the tire. my wife made a good suggestion; since i plan on getting a new set of rims some time soon, why not go ahead and get those instead of my normal expensive a** tire? i usually run bridgestone potenza. they ride nice and have a nice looking side wall; kinda square. not round like this set of michellines i had once. but can tend to be an expensive route. the last set cost me about $1200 for the set after installation and everything. the set of rims i want are only $1600; rims, tires, lugs, locks, mounting and balancing all included.

the point of this post is to ask you guys' opinion, as i so often do. in my spare time, i have been shadowlining the chrome and polished parts from my parts car. its no big rush so ive been taking my precious time. now i find myself in a bit of a conundrum; should i go ahead and shadowline or leave the chrome on my car. mine is in decent condition and doesnt look bad at all.

in reference to the rims themselves; i HATE chrome rims so the set i plan to get have a machined face and chrome lip. i can deal with a chrome lip. i actually think it would look kinda nice. that being said, i don't know if i should shadowline at this point. i think the chrome accents on the car would make the lip pop...or vice versa.

input? opinions?

the set is identical to these

I like them too!

And yes, if you leave the Chromeline, they will be accented by the chrome lip

They're hub centric for the e38. They'll be custom made for Sapphire.

imo, the star seems too thin. Unless you have drilled and slotted rotors and painted calipers. Even still it doesnt seem to fit the lines of the car. But as we say; if you like it we love it!

i kiinda agree but disagree. i like the thin look b/c its different and its clean. if i was going for that sport look, i feel like it would be perfect. im doing dimpled rotors this time around w/ painted calipers. havent decided what color calipers

20"?

yes, staggered 20.

i found these too. i kinda like these better. they look classier. the 5 spoke is a little too sporty for the look im going for. theyre both forged, 2 piece wheels. same price.

Gotcha. Those are indeed hot. I think lip on the front wheel is bit too deep but it still looks great.
