E90: radio freezes with no audio

i recently bought my BMW CPO and a week later the radio froze on me i couldn't change channels or move the volume. it was completely stuck. so i took it in they said it wasn't covered under warranty because i had 51k miles and warranty only covers up to 50k miles. -.- so i went back and forth with them for about 2 weeks until they decided to look into it. they said i needed a new radio that will be $1050 and also not covered so i spoke the salesman who sold me it and he said he would have his tech look at it. (im assuming someone who knew what they were doing.), so they got back to me and told me all i needed was a reprogram and it will be covered under warranty so they did it and it works fine now. just to let everyone know what happened so if you have this issue there is a service bulletin for this issue. don't wait call your dealer.

Yeah the radio is not covered under CPO. Good thing they good willed it for you as they should since you bought it so recently and so close to the factory warranty expiring.

Ya they were reasonable with me but it took a while to get what i want haha but for a dealer non-warrantied item i think i had a good interaction with them. And so far the car has been fine :)

Ya without it, i dont think they would have taken the matter seriously or been able to duplicate the issue.
