View Full Version : E38/E39 On board monitor frame

Will the E39 on board frame fit on the E38 navigation? Or vise versa. Both part numbers are the same but the last number is different the E38 is 0 and the E39 is 1. I bought a 16:9 navigation for my E38 but the guy that sold it said he does know what car it came from and it doesn't come with the frame.

E38 part # 65 52 8 385 450
E39 part # 65 52 8 385 451

Shipped with the 16:9, could never justify the extra €50+ from the dealer for the correct one. Fits no problem, just doesn't match the slope of the neighbouring wood trim exactly and there's a minute gap at the top. No one has ever noticed.

Thank you very much, also the picture helped a lot, so basically whichever one I get it will fit.

I don't see why not, nothing changed 99+ on the dash as far as I am aware.

If you don't have Nav already installed, then it's not plug & play (it is, in fact, quite a bit of work as the cabling does not exist).

If you already have the 4x3 Nav, then it is just plug & play.

If you don't already have a 4x3 Nav, then check out e38.org. There's a couple of very good write ups on how to install a virgin nav........
