So I have come across a 2006 325xi which was used...A LOT. Already has 181k on it. I am not too worried as it seems like routine maintenance was done to it but what should I be out on the lookout for with that many miles. Also is buying it the worst idea you've ever heard of. It has the cold weather package and a few other things but the guy wants 7500.
Thanks guys, hopefully I will join you here soon.

$1750 sounds like a killer deal.

$7500 is ballpark, probably. But that is a ton of miles. Motor and running gear on it is critical - PPI needs to do a compression, leakdown, and complete look at all suspension bushings/bearings, tests on all lube oils (diffs, tranny, motor).

You are coming up on 200k so it's time to have all those "lifetime" fluids changed again IMO. Also brake fluid and coolant flush. Power steering, transmission fluid.
Make sure the the water pump and thermostat have already been replaced (I doubt they made it that long) as they normally go around 100k (mine went at 117k).
My 2006 325i has 117k on the clock and besides a small oil seepage (trying to track it down still) she runs like a dream. I'd also keep an eye on the gaskets as I'm about to get to replacing mine to avoid any major leaks.
Then have the entire suspension looked over as well.
You didn't mention what maintenance was done on it, so if all that stuff has already been done at some point (with 180+k miles I'd assume it has) then you're good to go.
Offer 6, pay 6.5, and go home happy ;)
