right. i had fuel pressure issue from a few weeks back (pressure in tank), only just had a chance to look at it. now i found this near the charcoal cannister....it looks like a check valve of some kind and the little wire retainer for the clip was awol so i robbed one off another clip and reconnected it. the line it comes off is from the charcoal cannister and then it goes to what looks like the throttle body.

the routing for this is shocking, as seen here.

starting at bottom left and then going through a mixture of hard lines and rubber lines right very close to the back of the viscous fan, and then dissapears off.
what is this? whats the purpose of it?
been for a bit of a drive and there doesnt seem to be much noticable pressure building in the tank, it doesnt hiss anymore when opening the filler cap, it used to sound like opening a bottle of colapop but now you really got to put your ear next to it to hear it.
my fuel guage still says empty with the fuel light on. i have a new sender and pump assembly to put in it but how am i supposed to know when my tanks nearly empty to change it as i got a full tank atm.

now ever since i had the car it would have a sort of revlimit when cold of between 3.5k and 5k and after driving for a while it would go away. i put this down to being the crank pos sensor as that was coming up on diagnostics. so today i put new cps in and the same thing is happening. any other ideas on this one? could it be something to do with the asc as the brakes also feel shit.

also any ideas on what this is? i had to take the airbox out to get to the CPS and this hose was underneath it, not connected to anything, its a pretty fat hose. looks like one end dissapears behind the top washer bottle. any ideas?

the first thing is the evap purge valve, and its job is to vent fuel tank pressure. it mounts below the headlight behind the bumper, and that hard line is to route it down there cleanly. someones been monkeying with it. let me find a picture for you. it goes soft elbow off the TB, hard line tubing that turns it down next to the radiator, then softline into the valve. looks like its all there, but that valve has been moved up for some reason.

not sure about that hose, but then again we didnt get the power steering res right behind the headlight. but that may be just because out brake booster stuff is on the left side.

edit: where is your brake booster? hydroboost?

sweet, so its most likely that this being unplugged was the cause of the pressure build up in my tank? pics of routing would be awesome! cheers dude!

sweet cheers man. guess the pressure build up screwed my fuel guage sender? any ideas on the rev issue?

woah, thats a way different layout than mine. is it cause its lhd? would the routing be the same?
think my brake booster is up against the bulkhead under the heater valve things?
