Help needed on CEL P1531 and P1449 errors

Hi everyone.

I was wondering whether anyone has advice on the following two CEL error codes. Any help is appreciated. My '01 530iA has 153K miles.

P1531 (Camshaft Control Circuit open) and
P1449 (Catalyst Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Open/Short to B+).

The engine idle runs very smoothly and gas mileage appears to be normal (city 20, highway 28).

Recent work in the past 12 months were
- Camshaft Position Sensor
- crankcase ventilation systems
- Valve cover and valve cover gasket

P1531 -- Camshaft control (aka VANOS solenoid) **CIRCUIT** open. The DME detects less than 3V on the trigger wire when inactive. Broken wire, bad solenoid.

P1449 -- DMTL over current. The DMTL (evap pump) draws too much current. A shorted wire or failed (seized) pump.
