Hey guys brought my 2007 323i in for scheduled service and they found some problem. They called and said that my oil seals are broken and need to be replaced because oil is leaking. I am not sure exactly which seals are broken, but it's 800 bucks for one and 1000 for the other. I have warranty as well, just wondering if that sounds right to u guys and how did problem arose .

a rear main seal requires the trans to be removed and than the flywheel. so prob 8-9 hrs labor plus parts. I have done 3 of these on the E90 platform. 1 car had like 5k miles on it.
oil filter housing gasket 2-3 hrs labor plus parts.
depending on what their labor rate is, you can do the math.

Ya it was the oil pan seal and the oil filter seal it was $981 for one and $800, pretty brutal, what causes that and how come warranty doesn't repair it

depends on what warranty you have. if its aftermarket, you may only have the powertrain covered and those dont cover leaks.

In my experience leaks are covered, READ your warranty.

1st of all, which extended warranty do you actually have? and where in the world are you located? It helps to put the location info in your profile.

Let us know what you/they find. I'm going to have to replace my oil filter housing gasket and my oil pan gasket here in the next few months (one at a time).
