Remote won't unlock doors

In my 2006 325xi, after I lock the doors with the remote or the dashpanel lock, I can't unlock with the remote or by using the interior door handle. This is on driver side door only. I read the pinned thread in this forum and checked the fuses - same problem. This is my first BMW and would appreciate advice on next steps.

will the other dorrs unlock with remote or no?

if they unlock and the drvs door does not than you need a lock assy. if the other door wont unlock either than th eremote is prob bad, try another remote.

Tried both remotes - neither one works. Confusing because remote locking works but unlock does not.
