Hi!

I just purchased used 2009 BMW 335i with the sport package (41k miles on it). I read many threads on how to use the paddle shifters in that car, and unfortunately it does not work with the car I got. Whenever I try using paddle shifters in the D mode, I can only downshift (upshifting does not work). When I switch to the DS mode, using paddle shifters (whether up or down-shifting) makes the car go back into the D mode. Tiptronic (DS mode using the stick) works just fine. I am going to get the dealer to look into it, but do you guys have any ideas as to what it might be and if it's covered under the 4yr warranty?

Sounds like you already have the best plan, and yes, it should be covered under the 4-year 50K mile warranty.

If I had to guess, I would say its possible the steering wheel has been removed and replaced in the past. Best to let the dealer have a look.
