So my fuel pump or pumps are bad in my '95 750il v12. I would like to simplify the system and convert it to a single pump, cause well it's what I do and this is just a spare car, so I can play with it.

Anyway here is my plan. Remove both Intank pumps and convert them into filtered sumps, then run the two fuel lines together into a T and run a single in line 255lph fuel pump. I already have a spare 255lph pump laying around all I will need is some hard and soft fuel lines, fittings and filters. I may do everything in AN not sure yet.

My one question. Is there anything in the ecu that requires 2 fuel pumps to be in place? Or at least the pump electronics to be plugged in for it to run. Or can I just simply unplug them make my setup and wire in my pump?

Thanks guys I'll keep you updated on how it goes.

There's a couple of problems there - there are fuel-pressure regulators at each fuel rail. Using a T piece, you will only get the regulated pressure in the feed lines, I'm not sure what problems that might cause!

You only need one pick-up point, and that's from the surge tank on the RHS - the fuel is supplied to the surge tank from both sides of the tank by suction jets. More info here:

That's seems to be for a stock single pump set up. Are you sure my stock dual pump system uses a surge tank set up? Also I have only seen on regulator on the right side fuel rail on the front, where would the other regulator be? Under the plastic wiring cover setup. Sorry for the dumb questions, I haven't really got to look over the fuel system really well yet.

Sorry, I still had my E32 head on for a minute there!

You only have one fuel pump in the RHS saddle, the system is the same for all models, you have a surge tank and suction jets. You also have only one fuel-pressure regulator and a connection between the left and right-hand fuel rails.

Sweet I thought it was dual. So the left side is a sender and the right side is a pump and sender. So any recommendations on where to get a replacement pump? Man I feel like a dink lol.
