My buddy is the owner of Import Image Racing and if offering a sweet finance deal on them . I just don't know if they install the same way as my E30 ones did . Do you guys know if they have to be welded in on the front ones or not ?

All e38 coilovers require no welding.
Some use the factory top hats like FK basics, most come with their own top hats and just drop right in

Whats so bad about them ? I have never used them . I have only used Stance Coilovers on my 240sx's I have owned . My E30 I never want to add coils since I did not want to weld them

You clearly haven't driven a BMW on them. I've owned e39s and e38s on PSS9s, H&Rs, Fk konisports, FK basics, V3s, and STs. I've driven and beaten on all of them and after driving two of my friends e39s on BCs. I'd take them over every single coilover except v3s which cost close to $3k.

Yeah I have friends with BC's and they love them . I have not heard anything bad about them yet, thats why I asked the question, and wanted everyones word . Well maybe Iin a few weeks I will have my own review on them for the forums .

Hey there I've been riding in some bc racing br series coil overs. No complaints! The only thing I needed was a shorter front sway bar end link. Which bc provided with the set.

Agreed. BC are also one of the few companies that include a shock dyno for your purchased set so each corner is balanced.

Hmm. How much is a set? I'm getting sick of my bilstines making that annoying popping noise. Not to mention the h&r 2's are a tad too low and the dead coils just don't quite do their job.

Also, where do you buy them? Can't seem to find anyone that sells for the e38.

I can't compare to nex. Never dealt with them. But these feel solid. The construction of the coils seems pretty legit!.

Oh did I mention they handle pretty dam good. Drove my car thru canyon rds! From the last meet we had with Aquila

Destroys NEX in quality, ride quality, adjust ability, and bang for the buck. I've driven Eriks e38 on NEXs along with a few e34s and think they're horrible. Not even in the same class.

Hmmm. Looks like I might have a full billy and h&r 2 setup for sale soon then. I want my front just a tad lower, and I don't really want to loose too much ride quality.

So how would these compare to the KIDO's? Might be hard to find someone who has sampled both, but a comparison and opinion would be great.

BigBoy38
11-25-2012, 11:30 AM
Dampening on bc's are 32 way adjustable.

0-4= softer than stock, feels like if I was on bags lol
5-20=stiffer than stock but still bearable
21-32=go cart lol

But that my opinion. My current setup is 20 up front and 8 rear. Oh and I think spring rate also affects things a bit. I think I have 11k front and 8k rear.

Do these come with the shorter front sway bar end link or do you need to purchase them separately?

Sali
11-26-2012, 06:25 PM
I just installed these last week.. I got them for 999 shipped from circuit motorsport. They came with the shorter end links in the front. Install is simple and nothing was hard. The install was easier than my miatas. For ride quality. Im at 20 toward soft in front and 15 in rear and the ride is just a tad stiffer than stock but no where near stiff. I'm decently low right now and the ride quality didn't decrease lower I went like some coils I've been on. For me these are perfect, they can DUMP the car but also ride really well. I can make them softer and get them closer to stock if I wanted, but it would rub. I would recommend these to anyone wanting coil overs, but wanting adjustable dampening and a decent quality.

I'm really starting to like the sound of these ! I just need to find a company in England that sells them and see if they do them for a 728i sport .

I wonder what the life span of these coilovers are ?

Go with the 8k, 6k setup, which is "stock" for BC's, and you'll love it :) ,

THREAD REVIVED!!!!

is this the standard kit you bought? or did you have to get the custom shorter front coilovers to get the front that low?

I've read a couple people posts and they say the standard kit is not low enough in the front....so just curious.

M3_CABRIO
09-30-2016, 07:28 AM
1" shorter housing in the front. Or you can go for the extreme low BC offers. Without upgraded springs you will bounce but that's from my personal experience in someone else's car with the standard spring. Swift springs will help out tremendously. I will be going with DGR since they are better valved and with 10/8k springs. The body of shock tubes Lowers instead of the shock which doesn't effect travel. I will know soon enough if they are better or not.
