Hi everyone

Got a really weird problem.. basically my 6cd changer in the back got stuck so I went to fix that, involving the nav to be removed, once I had reinstalled everything I set off on my journey with the family, I went to type in the destination then it said Nav cd not in, so I thought ok I stop and fix it, went to the boot to see the nav cd was flashing on and the 'cd in' bit wasnt on.. so I looked up online how to get that to eject the cd, which I have done, but it still wasnt reading for some reason..

once I arrived to my destination I parked up, went to familys house, after a few hours got back in the car, go to turn it on, and now the whole display looks like its been backdated, the nav option isnt there anymore and the nav in the boot says its got a cd in but the on light isnt on..

I disconnected the neg to the battery for 10 mins and that has done nothing to it.

The screen is a 4:3 and its a MKII navi

any advice on what I can do now? looks wrong when I look at the screen now.. doesnt feel like my car.. any help apprecaited!

I'm afraid the Nav head units do fizzle out, and when they do, the video module takes over producing graphics for the monitor. And as you have noticed, it's a bit 1980's

That doesn't sound nice.... so is there any fix Tim? Or does this mean a complete new nav head unit?

I'm guessing the only fix is a new nav unit. If I get a new one can I upgrade to a mk3 or mk4 can I keep theSsame screen or will that need upgrading too?
