Exhaust help

Thinking about installing an exhaust cut out on my totally stock 328xi. Does anyone know where the best place to put it is? I'm thinking before the muffler.

"Exhaust cut out" ? Not familiar with this. Is it just a by-pass to a straight pipe?

Chop off the muffler, put on a nice tip with a straight pip from where it left off. I did it and it sounds great.

Only cost me $200 also.
