So, I lighned up with an m3 going up Lakemont again.. it has been awhile since I've been next to a worthy car going up that hill while stopped in poll position. It's really a 1 in 100 chance to have a car with a willing driving in that scenario. The stars have to be aligned.
The exciting part of this is that I saw a F 612 a three cars back. Not sure how he got out of traffic, (well, obviously we know), but he passed us up while I was pulling on the M3... he caught up to me by halfway (1/2 mile). In fact, I saw him coming, lifted very briefly, and went into the right lane after passing the M3 to give him a good shot. It's a perfect 1 mile uphill pull that has two great bends in it before we get up to the houses, never a cop.. they assume that nobody can speed up this hill I think.
That car sounded amazing! Looked like it had just come off the showroom floor. 300,00+ well spent!.. and NICE to see an owner that will actually push it.:buttrock
Cliff notes: slowly beat an m3 while being pass at a good clip by a ferrari.

How many car lengths did you put on the m3? Mods? I thought the 5.0's were noticeably faster than the e46 m3s considering that the 5.0's are slightly quicker than the e9X m3's?

This was on the weekend... DEF. not yesterday.... Yesterday was boating day on the highway in Seattle/Bellevue.

I was pulling him pretty good, but only took a few car lengths in front of him to slow down for the Ferrari. God, I need to invent something. It's a silly looking car (the ferrari), but damn... it sounded good.

The 612 is Ferrari's 4 seat 'family' car (along with the station wagon, the FF). It uses a 599 engine, but has different heads, and the 599 engine is basically an Enzo engine. No shortage of power, and they actually handle surprisingly well, but it is definitely not a looker.

I agree... kinda funny looking, but unique enough to get the point across, (that I would want to get across in that income bracket :-) ).
When I was following it up this hill, I saw its suspension load/move a little bit more than I would have thought around the big bend... but now that I think about it, if is on the "family end" of their designs... it would make sense... still tight as hell, but the rebound must suit the wife in that model I would think.
