Hello everyone. I have a 2001 740IL and I have heat in the passenger side of vehicle but drivers side is cold. Would this be a problem with the control inside of the car and if so anything or way to check it or bypass this so it's heat all the time. Thanks for any help.

I have the same issue...
Although having heat on one side and not on the other can be due to a few problems, by far the most common is the heater valves. These direct hot coolant into both halves of the heater matrix. They can stick open or closed. I have not changed the valves on the E38, but I have on the E31 and the method is pretty similar - here's the routine:
