Sup guys I recently bought a 07 328 with 60k miles on it with the extended maintenance plan. The car is amazing, but I think it does have some problems.

- It has a Rough Idle (Dealer says it's normal, but my E92 07 328 doesn't have this rough of an idle.)
- When I am backing out very slowly and turning the wheel slightly I get a vibration and shake which you can feel throughout the car and steering wheel.
- And today I turned on the car, waited about a minute and put it in drive the car went backwards very slightly and finally went forward. I have never been in a car that has done that so it was very strange.
- Also during acceleration I can clearly hear a whistling noise which becomes even more higher pitched as the car gets higher into the RPM's.

I took the car to the dealer for all of these except when I put the car in drive, and it went backward for a split second, but they said they couldn't find anything wrong.

Also when I come to a stop my car quickly downshifts from 4th to 1st or 5th to 2nd. Usually the low gear that it shifts into is hard, as in there's a hard-ish downshift. Is that normal?

It's just weird because my E92 doesn't do any of this, but the dealer claims that it's "normal".

For #2, I get a similar thing. Tap the gas a little and it goes away. Its just low RPMS trying to run the power steering. The more you turn, the more vibration. As for the downshift, I believe my AT goes through all the gears in seq order.

So the wheel vibration is normal?

There is a problem with some 3 Series with a steering vibration. There's an updated power steering high pressure hose that can correct it, but you'd have to check with the dealer to see if it applies to your vehicle.

The transmission in your car is not the smoothest shifting, but your situation sounds abnormal. Hopefully, it only needs re-programming, and not a mechanical failure, but your issue with the car rolling backwards could be related. I don't agree with spicytofu on the vibration being caused by low RPMs, as the car has an electrically assited power steering system. Try checking your power steering fluid level.

My car's idle at cold start up has a slight roughness, but it goes away after a few seconds, and that is normal.

I have this as well. It's not too loud, but I do hear it.

I only get the rough idle and jerkyness when the car is cold. I drove the car for 10 minutes let it sit a good 5-6 hours turned in on again and quickly put the car in drive, that's when the car rolled back a little. There was a very very slight hill but I don't think that should affect it. But once the car is up to temp it runs flawless. except for the steering wheel vibration when backing out of parking spots and such

I've been searching around and I think the whistle sound is normal.

Whistling sounds are good...
