This car has been completely the most reliable vehicle Ive ever had. Although the amenities of the car have not been all that great. The car runs and drives just fine, and has had the oil changed religiously. 3 years ago this car was a demo vehicle for a car audio shop I was doing some side work at. Since then it has been nothing but a daily driver that gets excellent gas mileage on the highway 33+mpg running 65-70mph. 167K miles. The car currently sits on H&R lowering springs and 18" 5 series sport wheels, tires have less than 5K miles on them.
OK Everything bad, Im going to be brutal on myself so that no one feels that I didnt mention anything;
The interior is Black Non heated seats, and everything inside the car works. The seat adjustment switch on the drivers seat sticks and will blow the fuse. Passenger side works just fine. The dash is pixilated, I cant read half of it. Heat and AC work, but the heater valve has sprung a leak last spring and I put some pinch off pliers on the lines, the AC will frost up the windows. The headliners sagging and the under dash is off, I put a remote start in it and had to redo the ground ( that may be re-assembled here real soon though. There will be no radio in the car unless buyer requests I can negotiate a small amp to run the door speakers and a plain jane CD player.
The exterior is black but needs paint and some minor body work, the car had some paint work done before I got it, and they didnt do a good job. One time while at the car wash spraying the car down, I hit a rock chip on the hood and stripped the paint clean off for about an twelve inch circle. Ive since then sanded and primed the entire hood. Last summer an old man bumped into the front right fender, it dented it and put a minor crease in it, was told by a body shop it could be fixed. It has a set of Bavtoys Thinline halos. The boards in the rear tails are as you would expect for the age of the car, they have some pitting and will cause a light to go out, a little twist to tighten the plug and it comes right back on and your good to go.
The engine has an oil leak, about a capfull when you shut it off, Doesnt leak any while its running (or burn any as far as I can tell) Ive drove the car on long trips (12 hours or more) and it will stop leaking altogether for about a week afterwards, I cant find the exact origin of the leak but i suspect the passenger side timing cover. Running down the road there is a minor vibration in the steering wheel maybe in a wheel its not bad enough that Ive cared about it. the upper control arm on the drivers rear squeaks and I have new ones in a box in the back seat. Also the drivers side motor mount is bad, I have it as well, Im having a hard time working on anything if I cant get the wheels to stop turning.
If someone who doesnt have two children, or at least someone who can help watch them can put a little time in the car, it can be back to excellent condition as mostly everything functions.
So lets say $3000. Im in central Illinois. Trade for a E34 preferably a wagon, or any other kind of wagon.
