I have reached a crossroad in my life and am going to pursue the wholesome American dream of a family life and getting married in the not too distant future. The decision to sell this car has been very tough on me as I have owned this car for 3 years now since it was built from the ground up. I literally consider it part of my family (serious enthusiasts know where I am coming from).
A bit of background about the car – it is a 2004 BMW E46 M3 model purchased in 2009. It was literally a brand new shell that was purchased in 2009 to begin this build process which took about 8 months. It is a non VIN numbered chassis from BMW (not a Motorsports chassis) but a bare chassis – not even a rolling chassis at the time of purchase. Needless to say I didn’t title the car as it has never seen the street. I had to source all of the parts from there to begin the build over these 8 months and transition it into what the car is today. The car will come with a build number sheet from BMW to prove it is a factory chassis.
For anyone who purchases this car has several options:
HPDE (which I do a lot of them)
Time Trials – I did these as well
NASA GTS 4 or GTS5 making some changes to the car
SCCA (don’t know which class exactly)
It is quite the car to drive as it handles AMAZING and
of course the engine power is great. The car has run fast times considering I don’t drive it at 100% as I always leave a little for correction(s).
Sebring – 2:20
Homestead – 1:35
Road Atlanta – 1:35
VIR – 2:06
This will be a turnkey package for someone who either wants to race or simply have a fun and reliable car to go fast around race tracks with. I have run it (3) seasons and the car simply leaves me ecstatic every time I drive it has had all of this development time and the right combination of parts to boot. Evert part of this car has been maintained professionally including oil, transmission, and rear diff fluid changes every two weekends. The bare chassis has less than 5,000 miles on it and has NEVER been wrecked or even tapped
Conclusion – this car has over $125,000 invested over the last 3 years professionally. No corners were cut with this build as I had built two race cars prior to this (Honda’s) and learned invaluable lessons. It won 1st place at Homestead Raceway (Miami) in the TTS category back in January of 2012 when I did a NASA event there. Also it was a top 20 finisher (July 2012) in the GrassRoots Ultimate Track Car Challenge at Virginia International Raceway whereby there were close to 60 cars in attendance.
The pictures indicate the way the car looks today however all graphics and vinyl can easily be removed (it is high quality vinyl made by 3M on the car) for the buyer. I can provide further pictures upon request and/or video of the car in action if need be at the hands of yours truly. The price is $65,000.
