I'm making the move from a 04' g35 coupe 6mt with brembo kit to an 07 328i. I'm losing my heated seats, factory subwoofer and 40 horses. Would you see this as a laterall move considering that I'm losing features? Or is this a step up? The 328i has the BBS like wheels and well just standard stuff no frills besides the sun roof and leather. Thoughts opinions?

I don't mind the look of the G series, but I don't like the ratty engine. The BMW will feel so much more of a car, regardless of the features, not to mention the driving dynamics.

Won't be as fast, but will be more fun esp around corners. I'd miss the heated seats though, why didn't you get them?

The amount that I was approved plus the clean carfax requirement and the miles/years requirements left me a very narrow choice of cars to choose from. Sounds like in general it looks like a lateral move for me?

And I'd like to say I've been on a lot of car forums since I was 20 and you have the most ridiculous response time of any moderator I've ever seen lol kudos to you

I am hoping you mean ridiculously short :). I am in front of a computer (or computing device) 16 hours a day on average most days :shifty.

I think by posting this on a 3 series forum, you can guess which way the poll will lean.

lol yes but im also hoping that honesty insome instances will win out over preference in those that may be undecided

honestly I'm probably in the minority here but I'm turning into a big woosy boy in my old age. I don't see spending "real money" on a car without bun warmers. I would have mocked myself and called myself "Nancy" at 20 but these days... the cold weather package is crucial, at least when I'm traveling out of town and north of the Mason-Dixon line in the wintertime. I love the power of my 335 (but actually am already wishing for more) but as much as I like the power and handling I like the over the top creature comforts as well. If it weren't for the suspension package it could do a reasonable impression of a very luxurious compact car (if you don't consider that phrase to be a contradiction.)

Of course when I was 20 I was driving a 1984 GTI with zippy options whatsoever, not even cruise control. Nothing like cruising at 4000 RPM plus with a sport exhaust to keep you awake. The fact that the heater control cable was busted just added to the fun. If you didn't get the valve set right before you started your trip, well, you either froze or roasted. And that's the way we liked it! :)

Congrats!
Biggest thing I notice about BMW's is how connected the feel to the road.

I really hope this is a typo, otherwise you bought the wrong car ;-).
We can make a joke that it is a cross between a bimmer and a hummer, bummer! Lol
Congrats and welcome to the community.

Lol I completely missed that, no bummer's over here. And yes it is definetly a great car the only things I have noticed

a very minor scraping noise on the rear pass side but the indicator on the dash says It will be quite some time before I need a brake change so thats odd..
and I dont think I have bluetooth which was kind of a let down with all of the buttons and what not lol
other than those 2 things i think its going to be a great car for me. I considered 2 aftermarket items but Im scared to death that they would mess something up, Nav and remote start.
