Ok guys, I have a 98 328is that sort of jugs or cuts out or just lags when I go full throttle in the gears 2-5 hardly happens in first, it usually happens around 2500-3500 rpms and then afterwards it pulls just fine but it just glugs or cuts out and I do not know whats going on. Anyone with this problem or suggestions please throw up some tips. Thanks guys.

Most will say it the Vanos that needs new seals, check out Bessian systems, they sell the seals. But you could also have other issues like camshaft sensor, bad coils, clogged injectors.

I am not 100% convinced that the problem is your vanos unit, because the vanos will typically kick on at 3k rpm depending on air temp, throttle position, etc
so if you are saying that you feel the power kick on after 2-3 to me that sounds like your vanos is working and that is why you feel the power turning on. Now, if you have never had your vanos serviced and would like a rebuilt one I am all for it! We have them in stock and ready to go,
I would look more along the lines of spark, and checking for vacuum leaks. Goodluck, and please checkout our website and feel free to call if you need some help troubleshooting

Sounds more like camshaft sensor, but check all the other stuff too.

Also check your coil boots. The boots are cheap, if they look brown or burned all swap em out.

IMO, if you want to replace the boots, the money is better well spent going towards new coils. You can get them on ebay, set of 6 for around $140.
