I would like a thread for touring owners that are looking for suspension. I cant find a thread that has pictures of their lowered touring's.

I have been hunting for pictures and what their suspension set ups are but cant find anything.

Please post a pic of your Touring along with what your set up is. (Shocks, springs, spacers ect.)

Well, I dont think you can slam a T any more than that, not on 20s.

Not on bags, fronts are original struts with GM Celta ( a much lighter car) springs, back its original air suspension lowered by inpa. Owner is my friend and drives it pretty much everyday,

confortable ? not at all. Practical ? he doesn`t complain a bit.

What is INPA?

Its a computer program, you can use it on BMWs to allow some modifications that would only be possible at the dealer.

I never found any Eibach springs specifically for the touring. I wouldn't want a spring set that claimed to be for both the sedan and touring. The only ones I could find from a reputable brand were H&R's and since they claim to lower the rear 1" and the Eibach's claim to lower the sedan 1", I figured why not. I will post pix as soon as I get mine on. If I get bored enough, and no one buys my brand new front springs, I may just throw them in while waiting for the front coilovers anyway since it only takes about 30 min per side.

Weird, I JUST called H&R and they said they dont sell ANY springs for a touring at all.

Ahh, well thanks for the answer :)

Very odd as they are labeled as H&R, in H&R boxes with an H&R label on the side that says E39 Touring 525iT & 528iT (without self leveling). Not to mention I got them from Turner.

Let me know where you find the Eibach's and how low they go. I will swap the H&R's out if the Eibach springs are lower in the rear.

Well since I've gotten a few PM's asking about it:

540it

KW V1 Suspension for SLS equipped vehicles.

19"x 8.5" +15 with 245/35/19

19"x 9.5" +21.5 with 275/30/19 (1st and 3rd pic), 265/30/19 (2nd, 4th and 5th pic)

any tourings with bc coils in the rear?

no because they only have sedan rears.

I'm running BC coilovers in the front and lowering links in the rear
BBS LM 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 no spacers
245/35/19
275/30/19
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d60/djkev/71e93f06.jpg

And another one with OEM Style 166 off an E60 M5

19x8.5 and 19x9.5
245/35/19
275/35/19

And it's on the flatbed because my car decided to go into security mode and lock me out. Needed the shop to recode the car for the navigation system I retrofitted.

Your car looks great. Wish I had SLS. What % tint do you have?>

Most companies say only sedan but the springs work for the rear.

Haha. Should have my wife's car all straight by tomorrow eve so perhaps I will do some work on the touring this weekend. Can't believe no one wants my fronts springs so I may as well install them just to see what it looks like. Could be another week or two before I get the coilovers for the front.

Yes they're OEM. You need spacers/adapters to step down the E39 74.1 hubs to fit the Style 166 center bore of 72.6 I was running 13mm spacer/adapters with the wheels. Rubbed the fronts but just needed fenders rolled or trim away the liner. Rears had plenty of clearance. You can also bore out the centers of the Style 166 to fit the hub bore of 74.1.

I know everyone wants to go wide, but the fronts were more concave than the rears that if I were to redo it again, I would go with fronts all around and just do a square setup. Or find M6 rears since the offset is lower which gives it more concave look. Its really hard to capture it in person, but they were nice. I just found a good deal on LMs that I couldn't pass so had to jump on them.

2000 i6, non SLS. ST coils, all the way down in the rear, plenty of room to go lower in the front. 18x8.5 et13 ACS wheels, no spacers, with 225/40 tires.

I wish the rear was able to go another .5-1" lower (without removing the collar) for looks, but this is fine for practical reasons. I have a different set of wheels to try out, but I will throw on some 245's in the rear of these wheels while they're off the car.

Now that I got my parallels on, I want to lower it but just slightly. I don't like having to worry about scratching the undercarriage or front bumper. Any suggestions on getting my SLS equipped ride just slightly lower?

I assume if I just want it to look more flush, a .5 drop will suffice?
