Did a search and came up empty...
I'm looking at an '09 335i, and the options list says the car has the prep for satellite radio. The stealership said it would cost ~$1,200 to enable/activate Satellite Radio on the BMW. My question is... why? Can I do this on my own?

Prepped just means that it has all the wiring in place, nothing more. Unless it has sat. radio as an option you probably need the satellite receiver, plus coding to integrate it, plus labor.

$1200 is a rip off. I had mine done at a local dealer for less than $700 about a year ago. (2009 328xi) I would recommend checking with a few other dealers for a better price.
