Amber side lights when headlights are on

Hi folks,

I recently picked up a 2012 335i and absolutely loving it. I came from a 2004 645ci and am well pleased with this beautiful vehicle.

I wanted to know if anyone had insights on the amber lights that turn on when the headlights are on. These are essentially the turn signals that remain an amber color only when the headlights are on. If I'm running on daytime running lights, I only get the white halo effect.

Essentially, I'd like to have the amber lights stay off when my headlights are on. To me it kind of takes away from the cool-white halo and xenon headlights when they're on.

I could be wrong, but I thought that this is a DOT requirement on all cars, in which case there would be no way to turn them off unless you hack it somehow.

Yup, in the States, those are called parking lights. Parking lights must be on when headlights are in use.
