didn't find anything in search aside from some questions
I have a Recaro Como

Trying to determine if I want to mount it in the center or on the passenger side.
I know people say to mount it in the center, but I've found in most cars that my seat is so wide that it makes the outside seats unusable...
I'd like to see what you guys are running in your cars

If you have anchors in the center position, then that's where you want it.

Me being a dad of three kids, when I had one seat, I always put it in the center... I did this for the protection of my child. A little safer in the center if you get hit.
As for making the other seats unusable, who cares, my kids come first, the others can walk. Beside I don't like passengers anyways. Lol

The only pic I have is in the middle, I did however have 2 in one weekend for a 4 hr roadtrip that my 2 grandkids took with us. Needless to say the back seat was pretty packed.

I never put it in the center. Mine is seat belt secured and it just sits much more stable when it's in the trough of the side seats rather than on the hump in the middle.

yeah, I hate using the center because it rocks back and forth too much for my liking

I always had a 2 seater until kid #2 got here so I always had 2 seats in the bimmer. One thing I did do was use a seat protector under the seats to protect the leather. The wife didn't want them in her car and when we finally took the seats out for good, her car had big, permanent (at least until we traded the car in) dents where the car seats had been. My car had nothing - leather looked brand new.
I used the Prince Lionheart Basix (http://www.amazon.com/Prince-Lionheart-Basix-Seat-Saver/dp/B003I85VAK/ref=pd_cp_ba_1) - @$12 at Amazon.

More like $24 with shipping, I use towels. At least my e46 has the tether anchor points, very secure and stable.

Tethers - forgot about those. My E36 didn't have them so I had to add them.

I didn't think I had one either till I found it under the seat cushion.

I have two kids, I use a seatbelt locking clip for both of their carseats, since the belts in the back don't have the tension stops (or whatever it's called). Pull the belts tight and clip them, and they are secure. Being that I'm a new member I can't post a pic/link, but if you google "seatbelt locking clip" it should come up. Kinda looks like an "I". Works great for us. My vert can function as a family car!

You mean the locking inertia reel? My backseat belts have that (in Europe).
Also, I must say I have never seen an easier car to install kiddie seats in, the fact that the rear belts come from the center saves like 30 seconds of swearing every day. Whenever I need to put the kids in my wife's E46 I curse BMW for not sticking with the design.

Yeah, that's what I mean, where you pull it out all the way and then it winds back up. Not sure what I was thinking calling it that.
Agreed on it coming out the center, makes it really easy to clip once it's pulled tight! We get a lot of looks driving around with a 4 year old and 18 month old in the back with the top down, but they love it.

Mine has locking seatbelts... I used the Mighty Tite because it makes it a lot easier to cinch it down tight... no need to kneel on the seat and pull the belts til you're blue... just run it through the Mighty Tite and crank it a few time and watch as it cinches it down TIGHT.
I couldn't get it anywhere near tight manually.

I'll have to check those out. Can't go wrong at $12 on Amazon. My older daughter is in a booster so the clamping isn't needed, but the little one is still in a regular car seat.
Wasn't even aware such a thing existed, thanks dudes!
