Gday,
Would anyone have the retrofit document EBA 9787928 for the install of cruise control
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=CB22&mospid=47441&btnr=66_0032&hg=66&fg=95

I understand the kit is no longer available. I have obtained the parts and would like to see how the retrofit kit would be connected.
cheers

Cruise control kills the fun in driving a E36...but is useful for long boring car rides on the highway!

Let's see if i can be of help here.

What is the problem you are having when you wanna install it?

Route the cable harness the way the image is showing if you don't already have one prewired.

The cc-stalk simply adds onto the wiper stalk (beneath it) and you gotta cut up a pre-cut mark on the lower steering column cover.

The cable that goes down to the pedals hooks up to either the clutch pedal or near the brake pedal, depending if you got a manual or automatic, the automatic uses a jumper on the connector end to just close the connection at all times, it's there to sense that if you push the clutch pedal it stops the cruise control.

after that it's just a matter of hooking up the cruise control box to the harness and the cc-acutuator and bowden cable to the throttle body. Everything should have it's place to fit, so check cars that have cruise control and see where it's mounted to get an idea of where to mount yours, because it should mount up in the same way.

I see :)

Lets put it this way, you could practically hook it up any way you want with the stalk and box etc hanging in the car aslong as the cruise control acutuator and bowden cable coming from it is mounted correctly onto the throttle body. :) So it's pretty easy to hook up, it probably looks more complicated than it really is.

Just go behind the glove box and find the appropritate cables and you should be good to go. There is probably where you wanna mount the curise control box as well.

Thanks.
So even on my RHD car, the computer should be mounted behind the glovebox ?

Ya, it should be mirrored :) But you never know i guess.. hence "should be" :) But i'm pretty sure it is, can't see where it would be otherwise! :)

Could you maybe upload them to somewhere so we all can have a share at it? :)

If you don't have a site to host them, mail them to me and i can put them up and share the link here :)

Yeah will do.

Try to get hold of a copy of the BMW EBA like I do. This program (used by BMW) holds all pdf's to all retrofitable items' install instructions.
