335i vs. 335is

So I was looking at the 335i and the 335is the only thing I seemed to notice is that the IS has more HP and with the 335i you can get the m-sport package but not with the IS

are there more differences between the two models?

Seems you are looking at coupes which are e92 so towed from F30 section.

The IS comes with the 7 speed DCT. The I has a 6 speed auto or manual. The exhaust and wheels are unique to the IS.

M-sport package is standard on the 'is'. It is basically the same as a regular 335 with the performance power kit installed. It does have unique exhaust (very similar to OEM performance exhaust) and wheels. Along with special interior trim with '335is' on it, and also '335is' in the gauge cluster. The only really special thing is the DCT trans.

:confusedOne thing that's kind of puzzling....
The M Sport package on the 335i has M3 style side view mirrors. The is has the standard 3 series coupe mirrors that are painted black.:confused

They are different in many things engineering wise, but from an application pov, theN54 seems easier to mod.

The N54 is two separate turbos the N55 is one turbo with 2 scrolls. As a result the N54 is easier to mod but my BMW service tech says the N55 is more reliable in the long run

I never had a 335i to compare, but everything I read about the 335is made it desirable and I got one and I am not disappointed. 2010-2013 build with only 3000 or so made will make it a pretty good car to buy off of lease or as 2nd owner.
