could a 95 m3 driveshaft fit an 97 m3 Trans?

If you are putting a ZF tranny from an m3 into your 325 you only need the front half of the m3 driveshaft. The front half of any m3 or 328 driveshaft will work. If you want to swap in the entire driveshaft then any 328 driveshaft will work and any m3 driveshaft with a 4 bolt dif flange will work. Some m3 shafts have a 6 bolt dif flange so you need to be sure.

Whats the difference between the M3 and 325i tranny?

M3 and 328 uses a ZF 310/320 and the 325/323 uses a Getrag. The two different gearboxes are different length, so different driveshafts are needed.

this is 100% correct but just to add to it.

Rear half of all 323, 325, 328 and M3 driveshafts is identical regardless of what tranny you have....ZF, getrag, or auto trannies included except some M3's came with a 6 bolt dif flange.

318's also got the same Getrag 250 tranny that 323's and 325's got.

Front half of all 5speed 328's and 5 speed M3 driveshafts are the same

The front half of all 5 speed 318, 323, 325's driveshafts is the same

The front half of all auto tranny 318, 323, 325, 328 driveshafts are the same
