First off, ive done searches and still have questions to address since all of the answers i have seen are from 09.

Im looking into getting a 335i coupe with around 50k miles on it (im trying to stay under 24k) almost all of them are out of warranty so that has me worried. Ive seen tons of people are having issues with the HPFP and was wondering, if the car is out of warranty but under the 100k mile limit, is the HPFP still covered? also are there any other issues i should look out for with this car? ive seen plenty of them with over 100k miles but i would never get one, but it shows that they will last at least that long.

Im looking for a good reliable car with good mpgs. (i drive about 80 miles a day) and im honestly between the 335i and an 06 Vette. Im very familiar with the LS engines and i know that they are reliable and cheaper to fix/modify.

so, to those with higher mileage 335i's, what kind of issues have you had with the car, cost to fix, and if i should take the chance of getting one out of warranty. i cannot afford to have it be in the shop every month due to it being my DD

Hpfp is covered 10yrs 120k miles under recall so that's a non issue and usually once the new ones have been fitted its very rare for the problem to reoccur. Turbos/wastegate are under 8yr 80k mile.

I'd suggest buying CPO not private for something out if warranty there are tons of factors that play into a cars reliability. How well was it maintained, driven, serviced etc. the extra 2-3k for a CPO is well worth it IMO.

335 has been a very reliable car. I never had the HPFP issues but did the recall anyway as directed by BMW. My convertible is significantly more complicated than an E90-92 and I have had zero issue and I am at 54K miles. I expect that to continue.
CPO is always a good choice but don't be afraid with miles. My last car an M3 convertible had 284K miles when I sold it and it had not one issue. Just do the required maintenance and if something breaks fix it and enjoy.
I doubt you will see any issues until 100K anyway then brakes, shocks and struts will need replaced and all your fluids should have been changed at 50K miles and again at 100K miles.
Good luck and enjoy the ride...

I've got 97k on my 07 and the only.maintenance has been the spark plugs. They say they are to be changed at 100 k but I had one fail so I just went ahead and replaced them all. I would recommend around 75-80 k to change them.
