I think something broke!?!?

When I pulled in at home and went to turn around, I hit a dip/ drop at the edge of driveway & grass. As I did I heard a thump from the rear. I took a quick look but didn't notice anything. Anyhow, when I got to work this morning I noticed the pass side rear is sitting wicked low :( I fear something broke :mad any ideas?? I'm thinking maybe a shock mount but I don't know the e38 suspension well enough to be sure.

if you don't see the shock hanging down then probably the spring broke. many people are driving around on broken springs and don't know it. yours is evident.

Jack it up and have a look!

Springs primarily determine ride height, so if your corner's sitting low, something's wrong with it- either the lower spring mount on the shock, or the spring itself, I can't see the upper spring mount failing in the same manner.

Like previously stated, jack it up, problem should immediately become obvious

Thanks, I won't be able to check it out till tomorrow most likely. I'm hoping it's just a snapped spring as I was planning on ordering h&r springs today anyhow. I must say I did really dig the wheel tuck look, lol.

Update: Well I finally had a chance to find out what broke and it turns out to be what I feared :( Busted spring perch:mad:mad

I agree, The "tuck" is sweet!! Now IF I could get that look w/OUT having something broken I'd be stoked :) I have H&R drop springs on the way BUT I need a replacement shock :(
