what size wheels do i have?

i have a 97 328is and im not sure on what size the rims are. i think they are 16s, but then i measured 17. wasnt sure on how to read the tire cept that it said not to use on a 16.5 inch rim. also im looking in the 1200-1300 dollar range for rims. i like the hamann wheels, but a little out of my range. and i need new rims within a month.

If it is an original BMW wheel, its size will be embossed on the face of the wheel (around the centercap), or on the back of one of the spokes. The marking on a 16x7 wheel, for example, would read "7Jx16."

If you got the tires mounted, just read the tires, it's the last number: XXX?YY??ZZ (xxx is the width, yy the sidewall and zz the rim size).
