Ladies and gentlemen...i am a newbie probably lower then rookie status but a huge BMW fan i had a 98' 325i b4 but with age comes some sense i guess so i have been looking for 750il sports package for sometime finally got 01 with 59k miles for 14k not sure if I paid more but fell in love with car the moment I saw it and didn't care about price.... Black with black leather and carpet is perfect condition.i am new to the forum also joined few weeks ago pretty much read all the threads my wife is saying that much reading if I did in college I would have been a doctor I told her if I had my way I'd park the car in my bed room.... With due respect to all members any suggestions regarding known issue that should be coming up. I've had the car for 4 weeks now only drove 235miles afraid something will happen to it or brake down but every time I drive still get goose bumps. Suggestion?

Welcome and congrats. Do you have the maintenance history of the car? That will help determine what you should do going forward with regards to fluid changes and such.

Haha, double trouble! Nah I'm just taking the piss... I would have got a 750 if the dollars made sense in my crazy country. I'd have to pay DOUBLE what you did here to get one with so few miles (that's what, 100,000km? Awesome). I think you'll likely get a few years out of it before having to worry about anything major really, the V12's seem to be remarkably robust in the longevity department.
Look forward to seeing some pics and hope you continue to enjoy it for a long long time :cool

You got a great deal. I would have paid that in a heartbeat. I prefer my 750's black and black with low miles as well. My 99 750IL blk/blk has 59k miles.

I would have paid that if the car was clean. Last year, low miles, V12 give it that kind of value to a certain group of people, not everyone. I paid 10k for my '01 740i with 64k miles. I didnt mind because I know these E38s with low miles are getting harder to find.
I did the whole coolant system right away since I was on the original radiator and water pump. From what I have read, they should be changed every 60k miles. Drive it and enjoy it.

Welcome to the madness :) I jumped in to a 750iL last year. Mine had the common intake manifold flange leaks which had be tearing down the top portion of the motor in the first week. What a great first project to get to the v12 engine. Good luck with the st/dealer ;)
