hello guys,

I own a recently purchased BMW 325i 2006 and it's time to change the brake rotors and pads. I went to my BMW parts dealer and got the zimmerman's front and rear coated rotors along with zimmerman's brake pads. but to my surprise the front brake pads are the ones used for the 5 series as well. The dealer handed them based on a query done on the vin number.

Well before I head to the mechanic that will be replacing them for me and discovering late the fact that these wont fit. Any of you guys have any idea whether the ones for my car are the same as the ones for a 5 series?

Go to www.realoem.com, enter the specifics requested for your car, and you can check the actual part numbers.

Well after having gone with the replacement, the pads do fit... I tried your searches with no luck since zimmermann's brake pads are not quite a usual choice for parts dealers, retailers and owners.
Now enjoying the comfort of excellent breaking with no squeals...

I just had an experience with this problem on early e9x. Apparently there were two versions of the brakes offered on a small build date of the early e9x. When we looked up the car by VIN we got pads and rotors that were smaller than what was on the car and the pads didnt fit calipers. the parts guy looked up with out a vin and found another set of pads and rotors offered. i suggest you need the other set.
