It's been painted, as the lowers should be black.

A restoration project owned by a student, that has already gone through a gearbox.. I hope this is not some guy who bought this cheap from the original owner and rode the hell out of it.

Buy it for $6k and drive it until it explodes. Find a replacement engine if you want, or sit on a great parts car if you don't.

Or buy it for 6k and drop 3 to 4k in it doing some major refresh on bottom end bearings, timing components and head gasket and to try and get at least another 100k or more out of it.
