So I installed a leather dash tonight. It was from a 98, so I wasn't sure it would be a direct fit. But it was. The doner car had side curtain airbags, just like mine.
However, after getting it in, I notice that my front parking lights are always on now.
With the switch off, just the fronts are on.
With the switch on the parking light position, front and rear parking lights and dash lights come on.
And switched to head lights, everything comes on.
Any idea what could cause this? All the plugs went back normal. Got me stumped. I thought it might be the switch being that it was from the 98 dash, so I swapped it with my old one. Same thing.
Here is some pics.

I think it has something to do with your dimmer switch, by the way nice dashboard.

Are you sure that you didn't pinch a wire when you installed the new dash? You should take it out and sell it to me!

Looks GREAT!!!

Hmmm. Maybe
Nahhhh. Maybe for one millions dollars, wa ha ha. (pinky touches lip)
Don't think there are any pinched wires. There is a lot of space in there.

I've got this issue aswell ! I had an ongoing water leak in the car and after ruling out every other cause for a leak I removed the dash too see if I could trace the water and I found the water was coming in both bottom corners of the windshield ! .
I had the windshield replaced and I installed the dash , I made sure wire's were clear and it went back very well ! .
I thought to myself " great job ! " everything worked as it should :) .
Well..... One evening I decided to go out and when I started the car I noticed the light switch was illuminated ? The lights weren't on and it was in the off position and when you turn the switch to side lights everything else will light up in the car as normal , so the switch work as normal and the head lights too but when you turn the lights off the switch is still illuminated ?
I thought I need to get something reset as the car was off the road for 3-4 week's with the dash out and the battery disconnected , i replaced the battery aswell once I put the car back together again as the original one was flat as a pancake .

Well. The light switch should be lit. It's lit so that night you can find it. My problem is that the parking lights on the front of the car are on.

The dimmer switch and the light switch are close. Are you certain you did not plug them back in reverse? I think they ate the same type plug and can be connected to either switch. The dimmer switch should be a white plastic connector with the light switch a black connector.
Love the leather dashes.

Man! Nick, that dash looks awesome! I am so desperate to install mine, but I want to wait till I have all the other associated pieces like the console, glove and lower dash on driver's side.

Sounds like you may have torn open a wire that's grounding itself when you put the dash back in, for good measure I'd pull the dashboard and double check everything.

When I had the dash out I had to move the car and when I connected the battery the front side lights came on and back lights with no switches connected , would the connector be in properly ? Just a thought .

Are they still lit with the switch unplugged?
You could sell the dash and start a new trend of no dash! Kindof like a naked sportbike.

If the headlight switch is unplugged the parking lights stay on. Check and make sure the plug is in tight.

I think you might have something there. I put the white one on the light and the black one on the dimmer. I thought they were different though. I'll take a look when I get home.

Glad it worked out even with the hitch in the lighting. It sure looks like a pristine dash if I don't say so myself! ;)
Hope you get everything sorted out - you're welcomed back here any time for more parts!

Well, the plugs are different. So I didn't swap them by accident. They are both black, but one is wider than the other. Guess I'll have to pull it back out this weekend :(

Sorry. Someone above said that if the plug is not set in correctly the parking lights stay on continuously. Also is the light switch from the old dash or the new one. Should not make a difference but if the new switch is bad just swap in your old one and that should work.

I must be a midget then. I can get just about my whole arm in the opening for the cluster.
I've tried swapping switches. Made sure it's plugged in and even fiddled with the wires to see what happens. Nothing changes. I should have some time this weekend to pull it apart again. Hopefully it will be obvious what's going on.
