Aux fan

the aux fan on my 95 e38 does not come on at all when ac is turned on. When ac is turned on there is power to fan. Fan turns freely. i have read somewhere about resistor packs to change but don't understand. How do I fix fan?

Basically, find the wiring to the fan and trace it. Somewhere near the driver's side headlight should be a little rectangle in the middle of the wires. That part breaks and the current can't flow.
