I was about to pull out of my driveway when i look up the hill and see a Z4 cruisin down going about 40mph. New one, looked VERY nice. Silver and had the top down, my S is also silver and topless. My car was already warm so I figured what the hell. 2 lanes each direction, turning lane in middle, no traffic. So i pull out a little bit ahead of him and rip first gear out to about 40mph, right next to his car. I have a Berk 3" single exhaust, sounds good but WOT is pretty loud, especially when it hits vtec at 5800rpm.

I shift to second and chirp the tires. I didnt have my boost control hooked up so I was only running spring pressure, 7psi. As I catch second and start catching up to him I'm about 3 cars back and he downshifts (must be auto or DCT) and rips it hard. I pull up to his fender, then i think he must of shifted cuz he drops pretty even. I saw a 35i badge so I know its boosted. I shift a little early, maybe 8k or so, but lands me in vtec in 3rd, pass him and pull about 2 lengths pretty easy. I let off top of 3rd about 90mph or so and he continues on! dude has some balls, he blew threw an intersection at that speed.

I am pretty sure the power levels are near the same, but I killed him through gearing, maybe weight. Similar thing happens when I race STIs. In gear we pull pretty even, then they shift and I have another 2k rpms and take off.

My s2k is stock motor with GT3071 and AEM EMS. 7 pounds is nothing, I hit that before 4k rpm so its a FAT powerband. on 12 pounds i'm just shy of 400whp.

Smoked a e46 M3 the other day too. He actually killed me on the launch, I bogged hard then hit boost and flew by him with ease.

So had 2 races with BMWs lately. Won both but got me thinking about my e36 M3 and e46 330ci. Loved those cars. I just got T-boned driver side in my little DD mazda protege and now need a replacement. Thinking about a e39 wagon.

I miss the roundel. Best driving feel there is, hands down. Turbo S is pretty damn awesome though, I've only had it a few months and its already blowing my mind.

Sorry I'm on the wrong side of the kill

Good kill, not surprising though due to your power to weight ratio.
