I see this time and time again! No one can figure out tire sizes, what the numbers mean on a tire, etc...
If you have a 225/50/16: it is 225 Milemeters wide the 50 is a the percentage if the width. so it is 112.5 MM tall from bead to tread height and the last number is the rim diameter, in this case a 16" wheel. So, if you wanted to know the width in inches it is 8.85 inches, the profile is 4.4 inches, so then the tire on the wheel has a height of 4.4 + 4.4 + 16 = 24.8 inches high. You can figure it out with ALL tires this way, so if you go from 16" wheels to 17's, 18's whatever you can always figure it out! there are 25.4MM per inch!
