Have to replace VCGs, anything else?

Just wondering what else I should change while I am doing this issue? Car is a 01 740 with 67k miles on it. I want to knock out as much preventative maintenance as possible while doing this job. Thanks

Upper timing cover gaskets and maybe timing chain tensioner...

How often do spark plugs need to be replaced? I have to look at records to see if they were changed at all. Ive read something about some long life plugs, not sure how long the would last.

Sparkplugs are good for 100k, DOnt use 2+ or 4+ use NGK Platinums, ID also perform trans service. Long life is considered 100k

I buy cheap copper plugs...they tend to perform better than any other type of plug BUT I replace every year since they don't last as long... it gives me a good excuse to dig into my engine every year to do plugs

As other members have suggested, valve cover gaskets and grommets (consider powder coating while off), spark plugs, new spark boots (if covered in oil), upper timing cover gaskets, gasket ring #11141736758, new tensioner with crush ring and dipstick tube "O" ring. Properly clean all gasketed surfaces, clean and chase all threads, apply anti-seize to threads, use a good quality silicone grease on "O" rings. It should go without saying, but when doing these tasks and others, a good set of fender covers should be used to protect surfaces. I'm amazed at the number of persons that post pictures after spending thousands on cars and upgrades and yet can't afford fender protection. Just venting
