can anyone tell me if an engine strut brace from an E39 5 ser M Sport will fit?
also the coilovers?

Go to www.realoem.com and compare part numbers.

A E39 strut brace will not fit an E38. The E38 is wider.
I'm not sure on the coilovers. Check realoem if the struts are the same, and if they are, the coilovers should fit. I doubt it though.
