Hey gents, I really need your thoughts:

I own a 1999 328i prem. and have been itching for the past 2 years to upgrade the wheels (currently 16" double spoke). There's a local wholesaler named "Sports car tire" or online at (www.sportscartire.com) and they've offered me four 17" Alpina wheels (refurbs) and four Perelli Russo's (new) for $1,100 CASH mounted and balanced. The wheels are normally on 01-03 325's and 330's and I've seen them around a good bit. My first impression is that it's a pretty good deal but wanted to get my "friends" opinions before I pulled the trigger. The shop is reputable so I'm not worried about quality. I plan to keep my 16 inchers for winter and run the new set spring/summer & fall.

Please give me your thoughts on the purchase...both wheels and tires. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Price sounds too good to be genuine Alpinas, but if they are its a smoking deal. If they are replica wheels, the quality will be unknown, but its not a horrible price to pay with tires so you need not feel ripped off. Looks wise-thats your call, but I have always liked Alpina rims a lot. 17"s might still look a little small on an E46. Pirelli Rossos are good tires as well, you can see consumer ratings of them by going to www.tirerack.com
