hey guys im planning on getting a mini cooper in august but im still thinking if i should get the type s or the reguler one , i dont know much bout the car and what i can do to the engine n etc ,
can u guys give me some 411 on it.

Get the S!

Although the Mini (non S) is a fun car - you can do more with the S.

It's supercharged. You can get a smaller pulley installed for approx $500 which gets you 20hp - 16 lbs trq. Host of other mods can put you at the 200hp to the wheels.

Not just performance but Think resale in the future. Once they have a few years (or more) on them, buyers will be looking for the S.

Because as a buyer if your going to get a used car youre going to want the one with the most options.

Resale is quite strong on both, but this is a newer model. Both are a lot of fun, better than any other car for the $$$. Coper 115hp, MCS 163 hp, JCW 200 hp. I'd opt for the MCS as well, but if $$ is tight don't feel bad about the Cooper. You'll still have a blast.

I have heard that the standard MINIs are doing great at AutoX because they aren't competing with as tough a crowd as the Ss are.

However, On our drive (about 10 MINIs, only one standard), the standard was struggling to keep up on mountain roads.

Just a thought. I voted with my $$...I am an S owner.

I figured I would keep the car for a long, long time and the difference over that time period was minimal.
