I just took my 2007 Cooper S to the dealer because of poor power. One of the things they mention is...
FOUND TO HAVE SUPERKNOCK FAULTS WITH FUEL
SHUT OFF, RECOMEND MANUAL VALVE CLEANING,
SPARKPLUGS, FLUSHES AND PROGRAMMING.
COMPRESSION IS EVEN @ 170PSI (SCAN FOR
FAULTS)
I've never heard of 'Superknock'.......anyone have any ideas or fixes?

Superknock is where the air / fuel mixture is combusting well before the ignition of the spark plugs occurs.
If there's significant carbon build-up on the intake valves, those deposits hold heat and improperly pre-heat the incoming air into the combustion chamber.

Yes, carbon is built up due to excessive oil (blow by) being thrown back into the the crankcase entering the intake ports on the cylinder head to be burned off, instead the back of the intake valves get gummed up with carbon and oil.

So cleaning the valves and updating the software (programming) is the fix. Also performing a fuel injection cleaning (on the rail system) helps also , to clean the combusion chambers out as well. Oh and get used to this like every 30,000 miles.
