Up for sale is a set of wheels that I bought about a year ago. They have been cleaned and the lips have been polished. I already have a set of these wheels on my 635CSi, and I just got ahold of RS's, so I no longer need these wheels. I haven't weighed them, but they are a light wheel, and very period correct.
BBS Mahle style
Fronts are 16x7 et11
Rears are 16x8 et24
This is the perfect staggered set of wheels to mount on your E28, and give the 205/55 and 225/50 Alpina tire setup.
Wheels haven't been mounted since brought back from being polished. I have the ORIGINAL center caps. They aren't brand new looking, but they are in very good shape.
These wheels will need the extended lug bolts to mount (not included).
Asking $800 plus shipping from Colorado.

I will try to get better pictures up by tomorrow, including center caps, and insides of wheels.
Can bring to the BMW 4 Corners Meet in Pagosa Springs next week.

Those look very nice, GLWS.
The extended lugs are +25mm (40mm total thread length)?
I've been curious, what are the weight of the wheels?

Oh my god. I wish I had a decent car to put these on.
Just for shits and giggles, anyone care to guess what shipping would be like to the right coast?

Beautiful wheels! My absolute favorite style. And a good price too.
The extended lugs are +25mm (40mm total thread length)?
From memory, I don't think 40 was enough. I couldn't find 50mm, so I had to buy 60mm but they dragged on the parking brakes on my E34 and I had to shorten them 8mm. The front doesn't matter, they could be 100mm before they hit anything.
Always, always check the lug bolt protrusion for yourself on a new set of wheels. Make sure the bolts go clean through the hub and out the back side. I once installed the 4 lug version of this same wheel to my E21 with standard bolts, and when I removed them you could see the stretching on the last 3 threads. Be safe!
Edit: you can also check the protrusion without actually measuring. Since the bolt is 12mm diameter, you need to engage at least 12mm of depth. The pitch is 1.5mm, so that's 8 rotations of the bolt to get 12mm of depth. Just count the turns from when it touches the threads to when it gets snug and make sure it's at least 8 turns.

Thanks guys, I hope they can go to a good home-- here are some pictures of my other set (non-polished) on the 6er, just for reference. Maybe tomorrow I can measure what size the lug bolts are as compared to the stock ones.

Cheapest way to ship a light wheel. is by USPO, approx $25 a wheel, parcel post, anywhere in the lower 48

Sorry I was mistaken, the too long bolts I had to buy were 50mm, and I'm now shorteneing them to 42mm. So if you can find 40mm that should work fine, but for some reason I couldn't find them at the time.

I always ship 2 or more wheels per box via fedex. Cost like $70 the last time I shipped a set of 18's. But of course their prices go up constantly.
