I'm selling the M-Pars from my E39 540i and a prospective buyer is claiming they've been refinished. He claims they should have a polished, anodized lip. I've only seen them in a uniform, natural finish unless they've been worked. They are forged M-Pars,
Fronts: 8j x 18 et 20; BMW part #36112229635
Rears: 9j x 18 et 24; BMW part #36112229640
Just curious if mine have been refinished at some point. I've attached a pic of one of mine.
Thanks for any insight!

M-Pars are normally just as you've described them. There may be some other wheels that are similar that have the polished lip, but standard M-Pars do not.
Whether or not your have been refinished is another matter.

That is exactly what mine look like that came on my 7. They are two tone, but I would not call the lip polished by any means. It is more of a clear powder coat, but not polished.

Thanks guys, that's what I thought. I think the guy is just trying to get me to drop my price.

Sorry to do this, but I've now seen 2 sets of M-Pars that DO have a machined-looking lip on them, with the grey painted star-centers. So there must be two styles of them. My guess - from talking to others in the shop - is that the ones that came originally on the cars have the machined lip and the ones that are purchased over-the-counter (although still through BMW) are all one color.
