What a bunch of hacks...that makes a Spec Miata race look like a funeral procession.

That is like much of the entry level racing here in the uk believe it or not.
When i was running Toca fiesta's, two of the drivers went through 7 shells between them in a season!

Sorry I changed my post after you replied.
I've seen some dumb passes, but those guys just seem to go in with the attitude that if there's not room, they'll make room. That's not racing, it's bumper cars. I wouldn't last long in a series like that, as I'd likely end up in a fist fight after every race.
I'm sorry that you have to work corners (I assume) at a race like that. Must keep you busy.
Also, during the rollover, it appeared that those cars don't run a full roll cage. Is that the case?

I'm a Race engineer, I was crew chief with the Fiestas.
Never had a proper look at the Mini's cage so i wouldn't like to comment
And yes there are lots of fights!

Cool. You're the guy who get's the blame when your driver loses, and none of the credit when he wins...at least that's the way my relationship with my engineer is. :D

Watch the Vid again. There's a rollover and it appears that there's no halo over the driver's head or downbars on the A pillar. Actually, there's also a passenger in that shot if I remember correctly.

That sounds very familiar! I once had a driver who was complaining he wasn't winning by enough of a margin! You guys are a strange breed;)

"Furious Angels" by Rob Dougan.
Interesting vid, and I know the rollover scene, he did have a passenger, and it appeared that there was no sort of rollover protection.

If i remember that was a corner called the Esses at Snetterton in Norfolk. It happens regularly there. As you enter the first right hand part you 'can' get knocked wide and take the route across the grass to avoid further incident.
But to answer your question, no you can't, he would have been expected to give up the places he made up, or he would have suffered some sort of time penalty.
