Ok... So I just ran across this gem, and the Belgian gentleman that owns it has had it shipped back and forth from Europe twice in its lifetime so he could enjoy it wherever he was. I asked if he was willing to sell. Onno then said "It only has sentimental value. However, I am never able to use it anymore because i dont live here.".. So the car can be bought, and he said (as far as he knows), there are only 5 of these in the US. It is a 1975, all original minus a repaint 6 years ago, matching the original color. The engine bay and all jams are still original. It has 139k kilometers. ZERO smoke on start up or drive off. I just want to know what it might be worth here, or if anyone may be interested in it. Enjoy!!

Very nice example of a 02 targa, there were just under 2000 examples of them converted so it is a rare vehicle, the owner is mistaken about the number of them in the US I personaly know of two in my state and they come up for sale on e-bay , BAT and hemmings, in the past year there have been at least 3 on e-bay alone.
Top parts are very difficult if not impossible to locate as well as E21 and E30 models ( I own a E30 TC2 # 44808 ) the prices I have seen start high at the 15k mark and end up selling for around 11-12k at least the ones I have seen on e-bay, there was a dark green one that had a fresh resto on it and it took around two years to sell, I'll check some values and get back to you on it.
I would love to one however there is no room in the garage and lack of money to fund Baurs !
I just looked at the pics and this car doesn't have the tell tail federlization finger prints on it ( the dot would add side markers on them )
here are two local baurs

Here is a link to a page on my blog, Baurspotting, where I post ads for Baurs that we come across. It is free, of course.

Scroll down to see a number of 2002 Targas, as well as examples of most of the other varieties of BMW Baur convertibles: e21 TC 1 Baurs, E30 TC2 Baur, 2002 Voll (full) convertibles, etc.

Lots of other info on Baurs there also.

FWIW, we had 8 Baurs at the Vintage at Saratoga last weekend! .... Including both THEPOOLEMAN and myself! great show! Kudos to Frank Greppo and The Patroon Chapter for pulling it all together.
